We are postponing the start of rehearsals.
The SBCC Board has had a ZOOM meeting this evening (9/2/21) with our Director Erik who shared the most up to the minute information he has from other Choruses in the state.
Most of them have decided to postpone the start of rehearsals for a few weeks
in order to see if the infection numbers start to improve.
All of our safety is of utmost importance and we are so encouraged by the large
positive response to our addition of the masking for participation. (It was awesome!) 😀
However, it feels that the right thing to do is to hold off a little longer.
We are, tentatively, looking at the first rehearsal being on September 28th.
This will leave us plenty of time before the scheduled concert date.
While this saddens Erik (who is leaving on 9/21 to perform in an Opera in Florida) it
means our most capable and exceptional pianist, Mary Jane Austin will be in charge of the first couple of rehearsals. We will be in terrific hands!
We will continue to monitor the situation and let you know just as soon as we
can confirm the delayed start.
Thank you ALL for your patience and for your interest in joining this very special Community Chorus!
Stay healthy! 😷 and Stay tuned! 🎶
